In this great article in Forbes.com, you’ll read a story about how one collector ended up with five 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle baseball cards – and it didn’t cost him that much.

It started with him and his brother collecting 1951 Bowman and 1952 Topps cards, which they bought for pennies.

But unlike many stories where mothers of collectors would throw out their vintage collection hidden in shoeboxes, this one mom just put them away keeping the Mantle cards in great condition.
