Rollercoaster of a ride on Shohei Ohtani rookie card value

The hype on Los Angeles Angels Japanese pitching sensation Shohei Ohtani certainly boosted his value before he even played a regular season MLB game.

His not so common ability to both pitch and bat well also intrigued fans and collectors alike.

But his poor Spring Training stats put a damper on his initial rookie card value seeing wild fluctuations in what they were going for on eBay.

Not that the regular season has started with Ohtani pitching well, it looks like collectors are willing to pay a pretty penny for his autographed rookie card again.

Here’s one that’s up for auction, which will end within the next 24 hours. The bidding as of midnight Wednesday, April 4 was at just more than $1,000.
