The versatile Javier Baez of the Chicago Cubs did his part to keep his team alive in the National League Championship Series.
He hit two home runs (along with teammate Willson Contreras) in the must-win Game 4 against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
While there’s the lingering concern over his high strikeout rate throughout his career, Baez seems to be adjusting and contributing in big game situations.
Playing with the Cubs led by Joe Maddon who values versatile defensive players like Baez, he could continue to play a big part on the team this year and beyond.
It’s not unforeseeable to see that value go up next season.
