Los Angeles Angels’ Albert Pujols hits home run number 609, ties eighth place Sammy Sosa

When all is said and done, Los Angeles Angels’ Albert Pujols will be remembered for a tremendous career and surely be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Pujols 609th career home run tied Sammy Sosa’s achievement for eighth best on the MLB list. But he’s bound to move up with Jim Thome’s 612 home run mark within reach.

In the hobby, Pujols has a special place with his relatively rare 2001 Bowman Chrome autographed rookie card considered by many the Holy Grail of modern day baseball cards.

So while you most likely won’t find that card on eBay (don’t be fooled by the many reprints issued), there are other cards from his rookie season that’s impressive. See a couple suggested below.

  1. 2001 Fleer Platinum Lumberjacks Game-Used Bat autographed card – $599.99
