With the NBA finals underway, check out what we think our the top 3 rookies cards for the King Lebron James.
James, who is a tour de force for the Cleveland Cavaliers, is leading his hometown team to #DefendTheLand after winning the championship last year.
In honor of the King, here’s our opinion of the three top rookie cards to add to your basketball collection.
2003-2004 Upper Deck Exquisite autographed patch (/99)
If money was no object and you were a huge Lebron fan, this card is a no brainer.
An autograph with a patch from his rookie year? Yes please.
And it’s serial numbered to just /99.
Value (as of June 2017): $100,000 (BGS Graded 8.5/10 base auto)
2003 SP Authentic autographed rookie card #148 (/500)
While it won’t set you back six figures, this one does still have a fairly hefty price tag for regular collectors.
Still the SP Authentic brand is nice and the on-card autograph of King James is pretty sweet too.
To top it off, it’s numbered to just 500 – rare enough to make it valuable but not so much that the card is inaccessible.
Value (as of June 2017): $9,700 (BGS Graded 9.5/10)
2003-2004 Bowman Chrome rookie card #123
There’s no autograph or patch but that makes this one affordable and an easy one to add to your collection.
The Bowman Chrome brand is solid and the picture of a smiling James with the basketball to his side is a nice touch.
A nicely graded card even without the autograph still retains good value.
Value (as of June 2017): $380 (BGS Graded 9.5)
