Sometimes you have to see it to believe it.
Toronto Blue Jays utility man Chris Coghlan did his best Willie Mays Hayes impression last night with his acrobatic in-the-air summersault flip over St. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina to give the Jays a temporary lead (see the video below).
A play like that deserves to be recognized and seen on repeat for the athleticism displayed – especially from a journeyman player like Coghlan who may not be elite but has been around awhile, playing as hard as he can regardless of what team signs him.
For that, kudos to Coghlan. Every player has their moments and every player to play professionally has their own baseball card.
Might not be worth much now or in the future (currently his 2007 Bowman Chrome refractor autographed rookie card that’s ungraded is worth less than $3), but there’s always a collector out there who would love to have cards like Coghlan’s as evident by the number of his cards sold on eBay.
